Product Description:

Adobe GoLive software allows both web professionals and graphic designers to visually create sophisticated, CSS-based content. Design graphics in other Adobe applications and bring them to the web with ease, using familiar tools and concepts. Then, publish your site to the web with easy-to-use site management tools similar to those found in Adobe Bridge.

What's new in this version:

This intuitive new version empowers non-code savvy design professionals to create modern, CSS-compliant websites using a visual interface and design techniques familiar to anyone who knows Adobe InDesign CS3 software and print layout. Designers can easily incorporate assets from other Adobe products by copying and pasting formatted content from InDesign layouts and by embedding native Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe PDF files as smart objects. With GoLive 9, designers can master the basics of web design and then grow into building more sophisticated web experiences using the industry-leading tools in Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 software.

Just so you know, Go Live! was not included in the CS3 Suite because it is being phased out-its place taken by Cr*pweaver®, I doubt we will see a GL 10.

Adobe GoLive CommentaryRemember when Adobe products were simple to use? - Version: 9.0, 11/15/2007 11:11PM PST

All this talk about Dreamweaver, Golive not working, needless bells and whistles, clunky interfaces, blah blah blah.

Hell, I still miss the simplicity of PageMill. It did what it was supposed to do, affordably, quickly and effectively, and yet still allowed you to easily edit the html if you had to. Yes, it would be horribly out of date to use now, but the idea of a simple, straightforward (and affordable) WYSIWYG html editor would be very popular right now, I'd bet.

Half the stuff in Dreamweaver or the latest versions of GoLive are pure wankery -- useless features that hardly anyone with any sense would ever use.

Forget GoLive -- let's bring back an updated PageMill.

Adobe GoLive CommentaryOnline petition: GoLive 8.5 Update - Version: 8.0.1, 11/14/2007 01:59PM PST

mediaVinci (mediaVinci)

Hello,

I have tested GoLive 9 and Dreamweaver CS3.

Both apps don't work for me in order to maintain and update all my websites and client sites I have developed using GoLive CS2, CS1 and earlier versions.

I really depend on using GoLive for the future.

I am willing to pay for a GoLive 8.5 update where all major bugs of GoLive CS2 are fixed. The maintenance update of Adobe GoLive 8.5 should work on PPC and Intel machines.

Anyone else?

C'mon, do us a favor Mr. Shantanu Narayen. (Future CEO of Adobe Inc.)
