Ok so I can't edit anything because it crashes. But I wouldn't want to edit anything anyways because it's not a fixed width font AND there's no syntax coloring.
This seems less like a php editor and more like a SQL DB manager (and a crappy one at that!).

Not saving pages? - Version: 1.5.2, 6/19/2003 08:54PM PST

Just curious if this is because I haven't purchased the program yet, but I can't save my PHP pages. Essentially, after running through the tutorial, I get two saved files... the JB document, and a .php file. After saving, I can open the php file in BBEdit and it only has the open and close PHP tags, but not the bit of code I built.
I can accept limits before shareware is registered, but it would be nice if it were documented this is how it works before I buy it.
Or maybe it's a bug. I'll be emailing Jane tomorrow.

The only thing I struggled with was access to form variables and arguments passed via URL's. I had not noticed the comment on the website about "register_globals." So...I 'fixed' the code and it worked flawlessly. I emailed SeeJane and quickly got a response acknowledging the issue and was notified about the ensuing version 2.0 beta that will ship this week and with that issue addressed.
Things I'd like to see:
1) $25 shareware fee. I always pay this (and perhaps I'm cheap).
2) Proofread tutorial. I found a mistake or two (now I'm paranoid about what I've said). I have yet to review the other supplied documentation PDF.
3) Slight improvements to user interface to make it more intuitive. Perhaps the developers are too close to their own product. This is not a big issue, but it did cause me some confusion.
4) An upgrade of their web site (You don't see menus until you click on the Download link. You don't see the warning about "register globals" unless you're on the Buy page -- it should be on the Support and System Requirements pages.).
With all this said, I can't wait for the 2.0 version and if there are any improvements, I'll gladly pay the requested shareware fee!
