Product Description:

From the INFO file: "JOE is the professional freeware ASCII text screen editor for UNIX. It makes full use of the power and versatility of UNIX, but lacks the steep learning curve and basic nonsense you have to deal with in every other UNIX editor." That pretty much sums it up. Once you've tried JOE there's no going back to pico or vi.

What's new in this version:

The Makefile has been customized for MacOS X. As with all good distributions everything is installed into the /usr/local directory.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.0

Additional Requirements:

  • Installed Mac OS X Developer package

finally gave me problems (it wouldn't deal with scrolling lines of text properly when I was remotely running it in Terminal), so I downloaded your 2.9.5 port (didn't want to bother with re-porting the newest version). Did a make and copied the binary to my computer and the server (since all the configs were already installed). It all seems to work great! Bug gone. :)

archive did you use? Maybe yours did. But the BSD source I used back when threw a million compile errors (until I renamed a function that was having incompatabilities with something in Apple's libraries)
