Product Description:

Created when Unix was young, Fortune is the venerable BSD program that prints a random fortune to the standard output (usually the Terminal). Fortune is typically added to a shell login script (such as .tcshrc or .bashrc) so every time a Terminal window opens a new random fortune appears. The fortunes themselves come from an endless library of quotes, quips, sayings, anecdotes, and jokes from a wide variety of sources. Once installed simply enter the Terminal and type 'fortune' to receive a random quote. Includes tools and man pages to help you make your own fortunes.

fortune Troubleshooting Report"rehash"??? - Version: 1.1, 6/26/2005 01:32PM PST

The read me says to use the shell built-in command "rehash" after doing the "make install". On my system (using bash as my shell), typing rehash just results in "-bash: rehash: comand not found". What is this command for, and why can't I execute it?

My only gripe is that the -s flag does not seem to restrict to short-fortunes only. :( Any ideas as to why?
