some apps don't register? - Version: 0.9b, 2/22/2004 01:21PM PST

I just noticed that Terminal.app and X11.app are not represented in QuickerPicker's list of apps, though other apps in the same directory are listed, like NetInfo.app and Directory Access.app. Kinda strange. Any idea why that is? Are these apps actually symbolic links or something not recognized by the Finder?

versiontracker said it "couldn't find the page requested" before I discovered it posted just fine...but not before I posted a second time...doh!
a (minor) usability suggestion... - Version: 0.9b, 2/22/2004 12:19PM PST

First off - great little app! It fills a niche in my attempt at "no-mouse" navigation of the OSX GUI.
My suggestion: if no keystrokes are input in the input field, and we tab to the list window (showing ALL apps), that a keystroke here would take us to the first item-name beginning with that keystroke. Right now you have it so we can traverse the full list with page up/down keys fairly quickly, but to make a selection, we have to use the mouse to make the selection, or Shift-tab back to the input field and type the name just observed in the List window, or scroll a 2nd time (this time sequentially) to actually launch the item.
So, selection-by-keystroke within the full list (at least by single keystroke, if nothing else) would put this baby over the top for me (and others, I'm sure)

thing rocks, been using it since it was releaed. Make a hotkey with keyboard maestro and presto. I could not possibly use OS X without this one, highly recommended!
LaunchBar is better…

- it has a Hotkey, does not use up space in the dock and searches for strings that occur in the middle of an App name, not just in the beginning of it...
Very nice program....reminds…

me of Smartlaunch and Launchbar. Now if it could somehow separate Classic applications from native applications that would be great! Maybe color Classic red text. Smart Launch also showed you all your folders, all your control panels, and all network drives in separate controls.

did you write QuickerPicker then? Because I can hardly believe that anyone else who has used both this and Launchbar would take any other line than the (by now very familiar) one expressed by adam habib. There's nothing _wrong_ with QuickerPicker per se, it's just that Launchbar does it SO much better. Advice to anyone considering this program? Pay the Shareware fee for Launchbar instead. You won't regret it. [Founding member of the church of LaunchBar ]
