A Better Finder Rename Troubleshooting ReportOops! Crash with noew version 8.16 - Version: 8.16, 4/23/2009 11:40AM PST

MBP OSX 10.5.6, moved from ABFRX 8.15 to 8.16 -> no problem
PowerMac G5 OSX 10.5.6, move from ABFRX 8.15 to 8.16 -> immediate crash upon launch OH THE HUMANTIY AGgghhhh!

However, if I do a "Get Info" on ABFRX and turn on "Open in 32 bit mode" it seems to launch and operate fine, so I guess it has something to do with 64-bit mode on PPC machines.

A Better Finder Rename CommentaryBy far the best renamer utility - Version: 8.1.3, 3/30/2009 04:31AM PST

django--2008
I've been using it for seven years now, and it never went wrong. From year to year, it has improved and came to be the most complete, easy to use and safer utility of its kind. Responsive developer.

A Better Finder Rename ReviewDoes it all. - Version: 8.0, 9/17/2008 05:03PM PST

I believe I've probably tried every other renaming utility out there and, at various times, one or other has had some unique feature that I found useful enough to keep me coming back to that program and not using ABFR. Not any more.! As of version 8 ABFR now appears to have the superset of functions of all other renamers and I need no other program. It's also a bonus that the interface is well thought out and quite easy to master. Some of the other programs are, no doubt, powerful but you need to be a total propellor head to have a fighting chance of getting them to do anything useful. If you are a photographer shooting any sort of volume at all ABFR will pay for itself in a single shoot. Highly recommended.

SPI...master...
Having been an ABFR user since the days of OS9, I have found that The Better Finder series has been an indespensible set of utilities that has always done a superb job. The "free" products mentioned in the previous post are fine, but nowhere near as useful, easy to use, predictable, and safe to use. If you have a lot of files, media or whatever, you can't go wrong with ABFR. You'll also find that the developer is very responsive to users...

a fantastic tool, I have been using it for years, and it gets better!
It's safe - can't say that of other rename tools - quick and incredibly flexible.
I just transfered to a new system tons of archives, this saved my life once more

there is nothing confusing about the price difference or your explantion ... it makes sense to anyone with any common sense which obviously does not include Thomas/eyelab.
He should also try traveling abroad where he would be in for a real shock where prices for identical items are drastically different in different countries.
Not to mention that he is a complete ass for posting private mails here.

Recent Pricing Confusion

As a European software developer I charge in EUR, except in the United States where this simply isn't practical (I have tried).

The price is $24.95 in the US and EUR 24.95 everywhere else.
