Doesn't work with Tiger - and can't read old notes - Version: 2.1, 7/29/2005 10:04AM PST

After installing Tiger (OSX 10.4), I can't open old PocketNotes documents. And several questions entered on their website have been ignored. One clue: their website still says copyright 2003. They may be gone! Advice: before upgrading to Tiger, get the contents of your notes out to SimpleText or other document. (I had to go to a 10.3 computer, reinstall PNotes to retrieve mine!)
Rather use version 1.2 - that's 5 stars.

That's not a typo: The developer has updated the previous codebase for Panther and it's also available from his web-site for download as Pocketnotes version 1.2. I can Highly Recommend, without reservation, the 1.2 version: I am using this little super flexible, deceptively simple application to write a book and the notepad contains about 500 notes, some of which run to 12 or 15 regular typed pages in length! Everything is stored in there - research off the internet, research out of books, some images (Ideas for the cover), links to movies on my hard drive relevant to a note, links to internet sites, even links to launch thesaurus and conversion applications from within the notepad! The 1.2 version is solid, it's been set in preferences to auto save/backup every minute and I happily drag notes from one section of the pad into another, Alt + drag to make copies of notes which are relevant to other notes, juggle the order of tabs - whatever I need to do. And this version DOES NOT CRASH!
A word of Caution: Pocketnotes version 2.1 will read notes made by version 1.2 but then in reading them render them unusable in 1.2: - make copies of your notes and - if you want to try 2.1 - let it open the copied files only! For the same reason I recommend the 1.2 application - you can always forward migrate to 2.1 when it really does work well but if you've built up a notepad in 2.1 you cannot begin using the currently more stable 1.2 version without manually copying your notes into the app. Competition? - I have tried out NoteTaker, but it does not allow me to freely + easily shuffle my notes around in the file tree like Pocketnotes does & I cannot create separate file trees for each tab, so it's not as flexible, and at US$ 70, not as cost effective. So to sum up - Go to the developers website; download, try, and then buy Pocketnotes 1.2! Fully recommended. Five Star App. ( This is the version that won the award. )

know which (of the many) bugs are fixed with this release. I like the idea of this little application (which I payed for), but it gets worse with every new version! (Unfortunately I deleted my older versions). BTW: German localization is TERRIBLE! And yes, I did offer help to the author with that.
