Product Description:

TGTools adds more power to Finale than Coda's yearly upgrades usually do: over sixty new features, clearly arranged in their own hierachical menu. They are now the #1 recommendation made by experienced Finale users and professional engravers. They are equally useful for the beginner because they fill in gaps that Coda has left in Finale. This plug-in collection facilitates many everyday notation tasks - some of them tedious to do with Finale alone: think of tremolos, string harmonics (with correct playback), broken secondary beams, or playback for glissandi and hairpins.

What's new in this version:

  • New Spacing now compatible with Finale 2008
  • German version recognizes the German Finale 2008
  • compatible with scores where one lyrics verse is longer than 10.000 characters

TGTools ReviewIt's worth more than the asking price... - Version: 2.45b, 12/19/2007 04:20PM PST

... especially if your time is valuable to you.

Does it do EVERYTHING? No. No program does. But it DOES make creating scores in Finale as professional as it gets. Go to the website for TG Tools. It does everything it claims to do and it does it perfectly. Go the the MakeMusic Forum and see what the pros say about TG Tools.

Then decide if it is right for you.

BTW, it is hardly an "anonymous plug-in." Ask any orchestrator in LA or NY. TG Tools is actually worth way more than the asking price and your lucky to have it available to you.

Will it make your Kontakt player or older Finale files jump into the new version of Finale?

No. But that fact that you even asked that shows you clearly do not understand what this great set of tools is INTENDED to do. It also shows you didn't visit the TG Tools site to see what it is intended to do.

To others, I'd say you cannot make a better investment in you workflow than TG Tools if you're using Finale in any serious way.

TGTools CommentaryIs it really worth the Asking Price? - Version: 2.43b, 2/25/2007 04:18AM PST

At a price of $100 it would be appreciated if there was more detail provided than "It's better than Finale by itself". For example, does it make it easy-peasy to translate old Finale compositions from the original Finale instruments to the Kontakt instruments, or does one still need to squeeze through 10,000 needle's eyes to get there even with your plug-in? Don't get me wrong. I use Finale and I love Finale, though it does have its short-comings. However, an asking price of $100 for some anonymous plug-in is not going to encourage me to download that plug-in. More information on the version tracker page, please!
