Product Description:

Helps to install and boot Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server, and Darwin on certain unsupported systems. When Mac OS X installs successfully, its stability on unsupported systems appears to be excellent. However, there are cases in which Mac OS X is difficult to install, and there are a variety of problems you can run into. So read the documentation carefully.

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed a bug which sometimes failed to update the XPostFacto kernel extensions when booting from a CD or DVD.
  • Switched to using the 10.2 headers and GCC 3.3 to compile the kernel extensions. This means that XPostFacto 4 now requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later. This appears to fix a problem loading certain kernel extensions at boot time on the Wallstreet Powerbooks.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC
  • Mac OS X 10.3.9
  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1
  • Mac OS X 10.0
  • Mac OS Classic

Additional Requirements:

  • Power Macintosh 7300 - 9600, or equivalent clone, or
    Original Powerbook G3 , Powerbook 2400 or 3400, or
    Beige G3 or Wallstreet Powerbook
    Mac OS 9 or higher
Mac OS X 10.x, or Darwin 6.x or 7.x, to be installed

I have a ibook color G3 300 MHz 576 MB RAM, Mac os 10.3.9 installed on it. I wanted to install os 10.4 with help of xpostfacto.
After restart boot failed with a lot of kernel errors -> HELP !!!!
I think my mistake was that i checked the "enable L2 and L3 cache".
Could someone please tell me how to boot from a cd and reinstall the os X 10.3 back ??

It looks like a fantastic program. I haven't needed to use it, but I've heard (and read a lot) about it. I'm hoping for some support for the upcoming Leopard OS, as this will be the first time that I've needed anything like this program. I have a G4 iMac, 800 MHz and it will fall just under the wire. Let me know if Leopard is going to be supported. Thanks a lot for your hard work.

I've been running OS 10.3.9 for about a year now on my 8600 (288mb ram) thanks to this application and a Sonnet G3/400 upgrade. It's a duel boot system with OS9 on one partition and OSX on the other. Saved me big $$$!!!

Thanks!
