Product Description:
SilverFast SE is a new solution from LaserSoft Imaging which combines the best of both worlds: high-end imaging technology for scanners for a very low cost.
Images will especially benefit from SilverFast's intelligent auto-adjust and LAB-based unsharp-masking, which does not sharpen the color noise of single channels, hence avoiding the extra noise.

The new PIE 1800 driver from scanace is fully OSX/Photoshop compatible. The quality is there if you take a bit of time to tweak settings and it's FREE!
Sure, no fancy stuff like batching, but we're talking about a scanner that probably only cost you $us250 new!

I am amazed by the user friendly interface and the powerful features. This software packet is worth much more then what it is prized for. High End Software for a low prize.

put here by error. In fact LaserSoft Imaging is still waiting for PIE (the manufacturer) to supply an OS-X compliant SDK.
