SPI...master...
Although this program is showing its age in terms of features and interface it is much, much faster than it used to be. I use the program primarily for quick layouts and for helping visualize ideas. The dimensioning features are great (once you get the layer scales figured out and correctly configured). I was having a problem with v5.61 running on my MacPro, so I went to their tech support page and put in a tech support request. They responded in less than 8 hours with a link to a new version v563 which they are about to release officially...problem solved.
Are they not even trying to improve it??????

This has been going on for years. Same old verse, same as the first.... Microspot uses the users to troubleshoot and then makes a half-a** effort to fix things. They come back with a lame attempt calling it an upgrade with a whole new set of buggy problems. What's really amazing is that they still actively market and apparently SELL this defective product which used to have so much potential. If only the company would devote some time to really get MacDraft back on track...a potentially simple, easy-to-use, reasonably priced architectural drafting program with true associative dimensioning. With every "up-grade", I've had high hopes only to lose hours of work because of some weird buggy sh*t. I've been at this for some time (since MD4), so I know what I'm talking about. I've spent countless hours E-mailing some poor guy on another continent since local "support" is useless, even right after my purchase of 5.5 a couple of years ago.
I gave up on MD some time ago, but have to access old files from time to time. A crash almost always occurs while revisions are being made. I've since moved on to reputable software company who offer forums, phone and email support and keep their product current. Granted the price was more, but at least I'm productive.
Just so everyone knows who is contemplating a purchase: At least on a Power Mac G5 with the OSX forget about doing architectural drafting....you will crash, you will lose data that you'll never get back, and you will spend countless hours trying to either recover, redo, or communicate with a company that just doesn't give a rat's a**.
