KidsGoGoGo X Reviewnot intuitive, but it does work - Version: 12.5, 1/21/2008 12:00AM PST

i've used this on my kids ibooks and on our shared imac for over the past year. while i've had many difficulties setting it up and really had to read the documentation, i have to say that the program works as advertised and gives me peace of mind with my kids on the internet. the japanese to english translations can be extremely rough and the understanding of any email requests are sometimes quite limited (billing questions posed a serious issue, like they were translating using babelfish back and forth...) but they constantly update the program and are active which is worth something. again, i still use it and paid again for another year. and the documention is pretty complete - although finding what you are looking for can be a struggle.

KidsGoGoGo X CommentaryNo Intel support? - Version: 11.4, 12/13/2006 09:45AM PST

I had used KidsGoGoGo X version 8 successfully while in Mac OS X 10.3.9 on my G4 laptop. Loved it. Updating to Mac OS X 10.4.x whiped it out, and I didn't worry about it too much.

However, since then I've gotten a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.4.8 and I tried installing KidsGoGoGo X v11.4. It completely disabled all internet access. It looks like it's a PowerPC-only application. I couldn't even use the uninstaller to remove it. (I uninstalled by manually finding and removing everything -- very tedious.)

I recommend it for PowerPC-based Macs, but it looks like there's some work to do for Intel-based Macs.

KidsGoGoGo X ReviewBest parental control for the Mac - Version: 9.3, 8/5/2005 06:15AM PST

Since I have young children, I have tried virtually every parental control software for the Mac. That includes the built in controls in Tiger. This program is the best one by far. Apple would do well to buy this program and incorporate it into OS X. The program is well thought out and by logging into each account you can individualize the program to that user. When you are done, the adminstrator can disable other users from changing their settings. The major draw backs are 1) the manual is translated from Japanese to English and therefore it is hard to understand. 2) The program needs to show you what sites are being blocked. I still will give it 5 stars because it has worked very well in my house. Try and buy this program.
