Updating my review... - Version: 1.6b4, 11/8/2009 09:51PM PST

With v. 1.6b4, ClickToFlash now calls home to check for updates once a day, and IT NEVER ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO DO SO...JUST TOOK THE LIBERTY.
This is not only very user-rude, it demonstrates an extreme lack of professionalism on the part of the developer.
(Doesn't detract from its usefulness, though.)

Great plug-in! BUT...

This plug-in is sooo useful that I'm giving it 5 stars despite the litany of sins committed by its developer:
1. Never posts "What's new in this version;" even the "Version History" linked to on hir website is only up to v. 1.5.3.
2. V. 1.6b4 phoned home immediately following its installation without a "by your leave." (Thanks to Little Snitch! :) )
3. There is no need for an installer to install one file, particularly considering item 4.
4. Installer specifies "[...] standard installation [...] on the volume (Your HD)," but doesn't specify what that "standard installation" is, i.e. whether it's to /Library/Internet-Plugins (for all users) or ~/Library//Internet-Plugins (for "just this user"). (It installs to the latter.)
5. Developer's website solicits donations, but sets the amount at an unchangeable $6, which, in my estimation, makes this non-nag shareware; "donation," in my experience, means the amount is your option.
