At first I had the same import problem as the previous poster before I realized I kept forgetting to check the import account transactions box and set the right date format. Once I did that it worked without a hitch. I've been able to setup all my banking and credit card accounts to download transactions too.
I love the appearance of everything, the graphs and their tracking of transactions is awesome! Great app for the price!

Transaction importing issues - Version: 0.9.3a, 9/21/2009 10:52AM PST

I'm having a heck of a time importing just one month's worth of transactions. I've tried .ofx, .qfx, .csv, .qif formats and I'm able to prepare the data for final import, but when I hit the "Import" button, it just performs a quick flutter and none of the transactions actually import.
I just upgraded to Snow Leopard yesterday.

Let me say up front that SEE Finance is not perfect. But, and I can't stress this enough, the developer is unusually responsive. I've been pestering him and he has risen to the challenge every time. This alone makes the program a winner in my book.
SEE Finance has the best automated assignment of imported checks to expenditure categories package I've used or tested. It is a full home finance package and supports bonds as well as stocks. This is the first program I've seen that fully supports bonds. The program is very fast.
And finally, I've found a program that correctly imports qif files (and other formats) not just for bank statements, but also for investment accounts. This is the first application I've found that actually does it correctly. Not only that, when I had an issue with this import, turns out that what was happening was not SEE's issue, but rather that (and I did not know this) that most financial institutions only keep about 1 year's worth of financial investment transactions on line. The SEE support team help me immensely with this issue.
The program is still young. There are some bugs that the developer is working through. Reporting still needs some work. But to repeat, the developer actively listens and works through bug reports. That alone is worth its weight in gold.
I've used it enough to become convinced that this is the program I will stick with. I am fully convinced that in short order, this program will mature into the best Macintosh finance program on the market.
