I tried this out a few weeks ago and it worked fine using 10.5. The Snow Leopard came out and there were issues, and I was in contact with Jalada. The developer was responsive and professional, and assured me that they were working on a 10.6 upgrade, which the above 1.2 version represents. They sent me an email letting me know that the 10.6 version was ready, with a direct download link. I downloaded and installed the new version and am very happy to report that Collage works great in 10.6. I really like this program as it has a number of tools in it that I've been looking for without having to launch and mess around with PSE or Print Shop or others. This one has all the features I need and is easy to use.
I'm running OSX 10.5.7 on an iMac 2ghz, Intel Duo Core with 1gb RAM.
I start the app and select a New Collage from a Template. Now sometimes when I select a template and click the "Choose" button the app immediately crashes. But sometimes the chosen Template opens but as soon as I select a picture either by using the "Add Picture" button or dragging the pic onto the template the app crashes.
The "Help" file is pretty but rather ambiguous. For instance I can't find anything telling me what format of pictures this thing will accept! I'm trying JPGs but they obviously won't work!
Like I want to create my own template but the only way I can figure out how is to save an existing Collage, which I can't make, as a "Template"
The interface is not very MAC like, in fact rather Windoze like!, and it's sure not very intuitive.
IMHO opinion this thing has a pretty steep learning curve.
I would suggest using "Shape Collage" instead!
It is FREE and has a mostly intuitive interface and let's me create any shape of a collage that I want!
It maybe doesn't have as many Bells & Whistles but it's easy to use and it's FREE.
And "Shape Collage" downloads it's full 606 kb DMG in 3 seconds while jalada Collage takes 9 minutes and 32 seconds to download a a Zipped DMG of 98.5 mb
