Product Description:

Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the Web faster, safer, and easier. Use one box for everything--type in the address bar and get suggestions for both search and Web pages. Thumbnails of your top sites let you access your favorite pages instantly with lightning speed from any new tab. Desktop shortcuts allow you to launch your favorite Web apps straight from your desktop.

The developer's build tests new features before they're pushed to the beta build, and so it should only be used by those who are willing to risk browsing data loss.

What's new in this version:

  • Introduced Timeline and Storage panels in Chrome's Developer Tools
  • Support undo in the omnibox
  • Extensions:

  • Mostly fixes black flashing that happens during popup resize.
  • Re-enable database storage for extensions.
  • Fix a crash in ExtensionMessageService when a source renderer closed.
  • Fix a crash in BrowserActionButton::OnImageLoaded.
  • Fix a crash in ExtensionsService::ReloadExtension

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.5 Intel

Editor's Notes:

PLEASE NOTE: Google Chrome for Mac OS X Developer Release is a very early release version and does not yet have some of the functionality that a full general release version would have. Many of the features still under development affect the privacy behavior of Google Chrome for Mac OS X.

Google Chrome dev ReviewFor me no problems! - Version: 4.0.249.0, 11/20/2009 09:51AM PST

This is a review of Chromium; the same browser but Open source; yes this browser is in development, and there will be a final version. What this browser does and does it well, is to Cut down" by 90 to 95% my "phishing" and mailware".The incognito mode is wonderful, and I have had "zero" problems with any site including banks; there is keychain support; a wonderful tab experience, and lastly no heavy CPU usage, using Activity Monitor as proof, and no "heavy usage of memory; again using Activity monitor. It imported and put my bookmarks from Safari in the right places. Yes, as a development release, it has improvements each day I download the current build using Chromatic. This will not be what everyone wants, but it is proving itself better with each release.

I have attempted to login to my mlbtv.com flash account to view a baseball game. The flash window pops up as expected (a little smaller than full window) and prompts for my username and password. Neither field is editable, but the Login button works as expected!

If I do the same steps in Firefox I can edit the username and password fields and submit. So I am thinking Chrome is protecting the pop-up flash menu in away that prevents the editing of these fields or this is a bug...
