Several years ago this thing used to be pretty good at pinpointing locations. Now it ISN'T EVEN CLOSE!

I am in San Jose, CA.
My server is in San Jose, CA.
My DNS server in San Jose, CA.

VisualRoute says I am in New Jersey.

ip-adress.com locates me faster and correctly. Don't waste your time on this peice of crap.

I downloaded this to try, but the install was a package. I really don't like those unless it's a trusted application and there is a need for that type of install. I can't see a reason for this app to have that type of install. I don't have a problem with dragging an app to the apps folder. I always try them at the desktop, if I like it then it moves to the apps folder. If I don't like them, I pull out AppZapper and nuke em. I really wanted to try this app too, I really did.

VisualRoute 2008 ReviewPainful and lacking expected features - Version: 10.0j, 12/19/2006 09:59AM PST

This program is painful. Not only is it a Java app, making it slow and in some cases ugly, the user interface is designed for a 4-year-old instead of a network professional. The important statistics are hard to get to or in many cases, completely unavailable.

If you're looking for a program help find network problems and show you real network information to help you resolve problems, don't buy this.

If you're looking for a program that will show a pretty picture of a map, a guess as to where IPs are located, and just barely scratch the surface of a network, this may be for you.
