iTunesLyricsLocator CommentaryMore Info About Product Needed on Webpage or App - Version: 2.0.4, 7/2/2009 02:42AM PST

Great, free, simple little cross-platform app that seems to do its job. But I do wish the developer would provide a little more information about the job it's doing, either on a webpage, in documentation or in the app. I can confirm that the app relies upon (only) LyricWiki.org for processing lyrics (it says in the window that appears before processing). But I don't know, even after testing, what the app does with files that already have lyrics--does it replace the lyrics? Also, while it's clear what metadata the app pulls from files to retrieve lyrics, it's not clear how perfect a match the app requires to insert lyrics. This is pretty vital information.

iTunesLyricsLocator ReviewVery Handy but iPod Touch doesn't display the lyrics (for me) - Version: 2.0.3, 6/20/2009 11:15AM PST

Those who appreciate knowing the lyrics of the songs they love will enjoy this app. Installation is pretty simple: drag the app into your Applications Folder and launch it. My library was found and processed quickly, and I was then able to view the lyrics in iTunes by selecting "Get Info" for a song and then clicking the "Lyrics" tab in the Info window.

After syncing the lyric-encoded songs to my iPod Touch (running the iPhone 3.0 software) I was unable to view the lyrics. Certain artists, like NIN, encode their tracks with lyrics, so I'm familiar with the feature. For whatever reason, I could not view the lyrics on my device.

Still, for a freeware utility, this provides a convenient service.
