Opened Paperless 1.0 and checked for updates. Downloaded update, but installation is halted by an error message which states "Update Error! The update is improperly signed. And the only option is to cancel and quit. Has anyone at Mariner checked this update for reliability?

I’m loving Paperless – I often use my personal credit card and cash for work expenses and have never done a great job keeping track of it all. Now it is all there in one place and I can easily add the client names and project numbers required to get reimbursed from my company.

Paperless ReviewGreat Start - Version: 1.0, 6/11/2009 05:37AM PST

I use this app for monitoring my spending and making sure that I know where business receipts are. It has done an admirable job for being version 1.0. I'm much better organized. I utilize this app with my ScanSnap scanners. They pair together nicely. Overall I'm extremely pleased with Papers.

While this is a very strong app, it's not perfect. There are some issues such as you need to make sure the app and right library are open before scanning. The OCR is acceptable, but needs much improvement to become bullet proof. The app only seems to look for certain details and doesn't always get them correct. I have yet to have it scan taxable items correctly. It is good about getting totals, but not subtotals and tax. The report window doesn't open in the correct size so it appears that information is missing. Resizing the window resolves the problem.

My one complaint is that this is a receipt management package and nothing else. Mariner does allude to being able to manage documents, but that feature is more of an afterthought. I was hoping to use this app to replace Yep, but that's not in the cards currently. I would like to see this side developed much better.

This app holds a ton of promise and being from Mariner gives me hope that this will happen. Being a MacJournal user, I appreciate the quality apps that do leave their doors. This app needs some love, but should mature nicely.
