Snowtape CommentaryExceptional Program - Version: 1.3.4, 11/17/2009 08:40AM PST

Seldom have i found a program more useful, elegant, and satisfying than this one. Stations from almost any source can be brought into this interface to compliment the WIDE range of music choices found already here. Best of all, you can file these recording into itunes, or a desktop mp3 collection file. Indeed, music for any mood. i listen to it daily as i work.

Snowtape ReviewVery nice - too expensive - Version: 1.1.2, 7/17/2009 03:30AM PST

I've downloaded and tried the demo version and I have to admit, it's really nice and it seems to be quite reliable.
However, $29,- for it is way too expensive and thus it deserves only two stars and I also would not recommend it either. I hope the developer will read these reviews and realise that they would make more profit if they halved the price for this app.

I already own Radioshift and although it's a great program I finally bought and switched to Snowtape. The reason is that I found Snowtape's interface very nice and intuitive and its integrated recording and editing feature is second to none. It's also very fast when tunning to or switching channels and now version 1.1 adds even more funtions like importing directly 750 new stations and a more practical interface. I was skeptical at the beginning to buy this program and used it in DEMO mode for a while but now that I own it and in the light of the new enhancements I can't recommend it enough. I also feel this is too expensive for what it does. Sure, it works fine and I like it, but I can also grab streaming audio other ways, ones I paid for already, and not have to put out 30.00 to do it differently.

Lower the price (half would be agreeable) and I'll buy one for each of my Macs. But not at this price.

Snowtape CommentaryTo Pricey - Version: 1.0.1, 6/11/2009 08:34AM PST

I like the app and like using it when it was in BETA. I was a little supprised once the release came out at the price of this app. If the price was halved i would have bought it. but at almost $30 i think it is a little excessive. I'm sticking with the beta

Snowtape CommentaryStill needs work - Version: 1.0, 5/30/2009 09:07AM PST

I'm getting crashes on attempts to add stations. And this still needs a well-thought-out set of instructions. For instance, it ought to be explained somewhere that the category folders are the equivalents of the iTunes "Smart" playlists, i.e., they will only accept items that match their filter criterion, which appears to be their name. So you can't simply open iTunes and drag in a Public radio station to the Public folder, since most of those stations in iTunes are categorized as Talk, or Classical, or Various or whatever. You would need to change the category to get it to the folder you want. And you only get one choice (and no user-defined folders); you can't, so far as I can tell, classify a station like WNYC-FM, which is a talk station by day and Classical at night, so that it appears in both folders.
$30 seems a bit much to me for SW that is essentially still being brought up to snuff. At half that I might take take a flyer.

This software is really outstanding. It creates recordings of your favourite internet radio stations seamlessly. It automatically cuts songs, adds album artwork and exports it to itunes directly.

An absolute must!

An amazing application, smooth, easy to use. Once you get the hang of telling it to record, this application would pay for itself all the free songs it gets you, but even better, it's free! All in all, highly recommended, but avoid using it when you're computer's very busy, because uploading takes longer.
