Mac DVDRipper Pro ReviewWorth every penny! - Version: 1.4.3, 9/2/2009 06:56AM PST

I have tried apps both freeware & payware for ripping DVD's.

This is the only one that copes elegantly with BAD SECTORS either through SCRATCHES or COPY PROTECTION.

It it copes with (& optionally removes) Macrovision without any other third party junk needed to be sourced or installed.

I threw a scratched Resident Evil DVD at it & it ripped it fine. The ONLY Mac app I can find to do so.

Highly recommended!

Mac DVDRipper Pro ReviewCrashes on start up with PAL dvd - Version: 1.4.2, 8/5/2009 07:58PM PST

looking4help
Experienced the following with PAL disks (several) when in Demo mode

Starts up just fine with no dvd loaded. Once the dvd is loaded and recognized, the app terminates (showing my age: it abends).

If started with the dvd already loaded, the app abends immediately.

Also, in preferences, the "change destination" opens a window that does not have, as a button, "create new folder."

Tried some of my NTSC dvds and it does not abend.

So, I deleted it.

Mac DVDRipper Pro ReviewWorks Just Fine - Version: 1.3.1, 6/25/2009 02:25AM PST

I have used This Package now for about 4 Months. Although I see some negative comments below, that has NOT been my experience. I have had Success in all I have tried. I use Pop Corn in tandem with this package on content I fully own and have rights to. For the duffer user like me it is simple straight forward and does the thinking for me. It seems to be a lot more straight forward than some other packages I have used.
My only suggestion is perhaps some documentation could be considered. However the one and only time I got stuck customer support was forthcoming. I am fully aware writing documentation for this type of product is a mammoth task given the shear complexity of this area. Striking a balance between giving simple instructions and not getting bogged down in Tech-Ville is going to take the wisdom of Solomon. I certainly hope this developer continues to refine this offering.

check the preferences and disable "use .dvdmedia format", or just right-click the created file and choose 'show package contents'

Mac DVDRipper Pro Commentarywell bummer. - Version: 1.0, 4/29/2009 09:16PM PST

evidently this app rips to some proprietary file format that can't then be burned to disc using Toast. that's of little use to me.
