Product Description:

Rainlendar is a feature rich calendar application that is easy to use and doesn't take much space on your desktop. The appearance can be customized with skins and it has been localized to many languages.

In addition to events the calendar can list your tasks too. The to do list can be sorted in various ways so you can e.g. see the most important tasks at the top of the list.

The calendar uses standard iCalendar format so it is compatible with most of the other calendar applications. You can import and export the events, make a backup of the calendar data and also print your monthly calendar.

Events and tasks support alarms so you get automatically notified in the predefined time before the start or due date. You can also create recurring events which automatically repeat on specific period of time.

What's new in this version:

It's now possible to add links to the events and tasks. New calendar layouts are also available in the included Shadow4 skin. Also included are bug fixes and usability improvements

Operating System Requirements:

Rainlendar Lite CommentaryGood idea, but just Intel? - Version: 2.6 Build 82, 8/23/2009 02:48AM PST

Mikis--2008

I tried this on Windows and it's nice to have your calendar on the desktop. I know this comes from the PC world, is free and that it's also a lot of work to add PPC code if you don't use Apples developer tools.

It would have been nice though as PPC will continue to be a substantial minority in the Macworld. After all my Dual 2.0 G5 with 4GB kept tabs with and exceled in a few tests that we conducted against a new Mac Pro Eight core Nehalem with 16GB in my office this spring when both ran the exact same operations on the one realworld Final Cut Studio 2 project. Overall the now 4 year old G5 won!

This will change with the next Final Cut studio I'm sure, but nevertheless it's an accomplishment on the G5's part.

While I'll definitely will be getting an Intel Mac, a portable probably, it's a shame Apple didn't make it easier for Windows developers to port their software to OS X. It's also sad when developers don't make the effort, though in Rainlendars case it's understandable.
