Play With Pictures CommentaryInstalls too many weird things, I don't trust it. - Version: 1.0.1, 6/13/2009 08:56PM PST

It's a DEMO, for Christ's sake. Do the developers have to install all that garbage all over my system just so I can try it out? And especially a DAEMON? There is NO reason a simple app like this needs to run something as invasive as a daemon just to defeat pirates. I thought this really sounded like an interesting app, and assuming it worked as advertised I'd be willing to buy it. But I'm not going to let a new app from an unknown developer install some license manager daemon and god knows what else all over my system. I made that mistake several years ago with Adobe Acrobat, and I ended up having to do several clean reinstalls just to void my system of all the crap installed with Acrobat that made about 4 other apps run poorly or not at all. Furthermore, the last Mac OS update (10.5.7) seems to be very sensitive to third party apps, which I learned through my own experience and the desperate Mac user groups postings that poured forth the day after it was released. I'd rather not provoke my new, fresh install with the gobbledygook this app installs.

It seems that the dev's paranoia about piracy is affecting his judgement, and therefore it affects the number of licenses they'll sell! The dev also should get a grip about pricing. $40 for this novelty?

I recommend that everyone stay away from this freak show.

This application is easy to use with an almost zero learning curve. Its a big improvement on the Instant Alpha of Keynote and the new select features in Preview.
Its not so versatile as Pixelmator but is a lot easier to use and costs less.
