Dangerous software

I have used this "utility" for less than a week finding that the cleaning options are NOT really very manageable and thus destroy parts of your system with unpleasant consecuences.
Moreover, it gets stuck/freezes under 10.4.11 while there is a whirling sound coming from your disk drive giving you the unpleasant feeling that it is destroying everything. I had to "kill" it with Activity Monitor (a very nice Mac/OS X resource monitoring application)
The software does NOT come with an uninstall facility so make sure that you eliminate every link the thing created. In my perception, this is a very dangerous piece of software.
I inmediately went back to OnyX and TinkerTool for cleaning caches, searches, etc because with them there IS a clear control of what you and your utility are doing.

To respond to some of the other reviews, it is possible to manually clear history, cache, etc from your applications one-at-a-time on your own. However, those items are NOT securely deleted. A simple program can be downloaded that will allow you to view the contents of those items you thought were deleted.
With MacPrivacy, all deletes happen securely. So all history, cache, etc, are cleared with a US Department of Defence compliant 7 pass wipe.
MacPrivacy also makes it much more convenient, so you do everything with just 1 click :)

The only items that are removed are cache/history specific items. No application preference information is removed.
The application doesn't freeze, but may take a while depending on the specs of your machine. To clear an average internet browsing session will take about 2 minutes. However, the first time it runs it may take much longer because there is so much to clear out. With a secure delete, the cache is overwritten 7 times (compliant with Department of Defense), so you may hear hour hard drive running, but there is no reason to be alarmed.
If you want to install the application, just drag the application to the trash and it is gone :)
