What's new in this version:

  • Fix for double conversion on non-Apple device formats where a file would be converted to "tmp.avi" and then converted to the desired format. This will now occur only on DV files for compatibility.
  • Fix for a YouTube issue where the output file name would contain part of the YouTube URL.
  • Fixed for a UI issue where the web video button would not enable itself on cancellation of an encode.
  • Fix for an issue where authoring a DVD using files with special characters such as apostrophes, commas, colons, parenthesis and others would cause an author to fail.
  • Fixes an issue where combining a series of mp3's would fail
  • Addition of RealMedia codec support. The .rm or .rmvb file will be converted to a high quality .mpg file prior to conversion to the desired format. You will need to re-run the "Install Additional Codecs" installer to gain this support.
  • Update to force correction engine allowing more formats to be detected and corrected.

In a very impressive move the developer has made all of his products available for free. And I just paid for the software a couple days ago :)

iVideoConverter offers way more control and functionality, but VideoVangelist is a good basic tool.
