In a very impressive move the developer has made all of his products available for free. And I just paid for the software a couple days ago :)
iVideoConverter offers way more control and functionality, but VideoVangelist is a good basic tool.

I get the same applescript errors as listed below (previous report) with the 2.0.2 version. Is anyone having better luck running this in Tiger?

I can actually start this application now but it does not function at all. Upon start up, I get:
date: illegal option -- j
usage: date [-nu] [-r seconds] [+format]
date [[[[[cc]yy]mm]dd]hh]mm[.ss] (1)
Upon attempting to add files to a non-existent list of files to convert, I get:
NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4 (1)
In short, based upon what I get, this is not ready for release; it simply does not work. Keep trying though.

This is one of the worst written apps I've ever tried. Version 1 never worked anywhere close to properly, and now the dev wants an upgrade fee for version 2? This has got to be some kind of joke. Avoid this app and this developer like the plague.
More problems. . . - Version: 2.0, 6/29/2009 07:15AM PST

Well, first, 2.0 wants a 5.00 upgrade from 1.x -- that is not mentioned herein AND when I tried to run 2.0 in 10.4.11, it bombs every time.
This is a dilemma: should a pay 5.00 to find out if it really does not run under 10.4.11 or not?

Youtube problems - Version: 1.5.1, 5/16/2009 05:42AM PST

Now when entering the URL to a youtube video, the application says it is "unable to validate" the youtube link.
I think you have some serious issues here -- this problem and the conversion problems with Applescript I mentioned before (it used to work just fine).

Applescript bug? - Version: 1.5, 5/16/2009 12:52AM PST

I was attempting to convert a .flv file to an mp3 and got
"The variable the_time is not defined. (-2753)" as an applescript error. The application never finished the conversion too.

Will not download updated version - Version: 1.5.1, 5/15/2009 11:52AM PST

No matter how many times I try doing the update from the application or from this site, it still comes out as version 1.5 not 1.5.1. Now when I use the app I keep getting the new version alert window but it continues to download the old 1.5 version???
