SplashID iPhone Desktop CommentarySeriously Flawed - Version: 5.1, 8/19/2009 12:58PM PST

I wish that I had read the previous reviews before I upgraded! Like the other poster I upgraded and then got hit for $10.00. No mention of the fee before upgrading!
But once I had paid the fee all I got for my money is a database that shows me the Description/Title of my files but none of the details/passwords/serial numbers etc. This is a major disaster of an "upgrade". Stay away from it completely.
Someone owes us an apology and our money back.

SplashID iPhone Desktop ReviewBeware! - Version: 5.01, 7/20/2009 03:34AM PST

Version 5.01 is seriously buggy. I'm running Mac OS 10.4.11. This version of the once great software, corrupted my data, duplicated entries and crashes regularly. Reinstalling, and restoring from earlier (pre-upgrade) backups failed to solve the problem. SplashData seem to be denying there is any problem and the calls for help are being met with the reply "your data must be corrupt" (which is now probably true - corrupted by this version of SplashID!). To add insult to injury, I was invited to upgrade from the last version. The invite didn't mention anything about having to pay. Only once I had downloaded and installed the software was I then informed that I need to pay an upgrade fee. Admittedly it's only 10USD but this isn't good practice (Splash ID claim it was an oversight, and say it is now corrected). So many issues, along with the companies seeming refusal to acknowledge and help users experience problems, says to me that SplashData is in trouble (overstretched perhaps by supporting so many platforms?). My advice: tread carefully with this company's products from now on. I know I will be ...

SplashID iPhone Desktop CommentaryStaying with 4.6.1 also - Version: 5.01, 7/18/2009 12:45AM PST

I've tried this version twice (5.0 and now 5.01). It still shows that I have 62 items but only displays 1. I exported the DB from 4.6.1 as a Splash ID vid file and tried importing into 5.01. That resulted in the first item in my database showing up readable, but all subsequent items were jumbled characters.

The application crashes every time I select Quit from the menu or try <CMD>- from the keyboard. I like Splash ID but I think I am going to stick with 1Password from now on.
