Contenta-Converter Basic ReviewBeen a Waste of Time - Version: 4.8, 11/14/2009 09:09AM PST

If you download and read the README.txt file included with the download you only get the impression that it is not freeware. Most other freeware providers usually include how you can transfer and how you can use. ONly by going to their website do do you find the software is freeware and that it can only be used for personal purposes. NOt my fault I was lead to believe it was not freeware. The person that made the prior comment, I have no idea how they found out it was freeware if they had just download, but yet did not mention that they went to their website where it says it is freeware? Waste of my time to see what license really is. Not suppose to be my job.

README txt. (this is all it says about licenses in the download)

Price, payment options and instructions:
* a single licence costs $29.90
* a family licence costs $39.90
* a commercial licence costs $69.90
* Buy online: http://www.contenta-converter.com/buy.php?so=gs
* Satisfaction guaranteed:
* 30-day money back guarantee
* Encrypted secure order process
* Instant delivery
* Recoverable license

Little misleading, you think?

I did download again and tried to install. It would not open, just dead. I then restarted my MacBook Pro 2.14 Ghz running 10.4.11 with two gigs of ram and downloaded and installed again. This program would not run. Did absolutely nothing. I bet if I paid for a version it would run.

It says on VersionTracker it will run on Intel 10.4.

I am not going to give a one star again, because if they get their act together and admit they messed up, then maybe, just maybe I will look to them one last time. But until then I WILL BE STAYING AWAY.

Here are some free alternatives:

ResizeIt, BatchResize'em, BatchReformat'em, BatchRename'em and NameChanger

Contenta-Converter Basic CommentaryIs definitely freeware - Version: 4.5, 6/18/2009 04:08PM PST

If there was a problem before with its being shareware or otherwise, it no longer exists. If you click on the download for the basic model it certainly gives you a freeware one with fewer options than the pro one - which seems to me to be a fair way of doing things. The basic version seems to do everything it says it will. I find that its graphic representation of what's happening with your images is useful.

This is a trial version which is not freeware. If they are going to mislead you in this, what do you think they will do with their promises of support?

Here are some free alternatives:
