Any file you put in it will synchronize both to any other computers you may have on Dropbox, as well as to the web. Furthermore, any changes you make to any of your files will be sync'd up to all your other computers instantly, across Windows, Mac and Linux! Dropbox also makes it very easy to share and collaborate on files with others.

Just downloaded and installed on my trusted MacPro running version 10.6 and I have not encountered any issues. Also loaded it up on the boring PC and that worked very well too. So overall i'm a happy bunny. Transfer speeds are incredibly fast ! Very impressed.

Dropbox ReviewGood fast free alternative to overpriced MobileMe but damaged DMG file - Version: 0.6.567, 10/1/2009 12:57PM PST

I add my "good vibes" comments to all those below. Dropbox is a great free and fast 2G alternative to the overpriced, buggy and slow MobileMe. Sure you only get 2G but hey, it actually works.

Only problem with the lastest Dropbox download is that the disk image (DMG) file keeps coming down corrupted and cannot be opened. Hopefully it will be fixed shortly. I've tried both from VersionTracker and from the actual developer's site. Nothing-doing.

Also, for those who have been forced to abandon Windows Live Sync since upgrading to Snow Leopard (yep Microsoft if you can believe it), you can use Dropbox until they get it working in Snow Leopard.

I use(d) both Dropbox and Windows Live Sync together, and before Snow Leopard doorstopped WLS, Dropbox was my sync for my...uh...Drop Box and WLS kept a special folder called "Current work" synched between my various Macs and a Dell.

Now for comparison and a suggestion to Dropbox developers: Windows Live Sync has one thing over you guys...the ability to choose/create any folder, name it anything...and keep it in sync. "Dropbox" doesn't exactly "feel" like an intuitive place to keep active work if you get my drift. Just a suggestion.

Dropbox Reviewsuch a great thing - Version: 0.6.556, 9/6/2009 04:07AM PST

Dropbox makes my life so much easier. I have 2 OS's on my desktop computer, plus a laptop, plus a Vista computer at work, and I can be working with a file on any of them at anytime without having to tote a flash stick around with me (like I used to). This includes making a change on the desktop computer, save it, go into the other room where the laptop often is and work on it in there, without having to put it on media and sneakernet it. I've never had a problem with it.

Best of all, it's free! (for 2 GB. tho you can pay to get a heckuva lot more space.)

The only real problem I have with Dropbox is not being able to make other people understand the benefits of it, especially for those that have multiple computers like I do.
