Apple MacBook/Pro Trackpad Firmware CommentaryStrangely... - Version: 1.0, 11/19/2008 01:00AM PST

Despite having a brand new MacBook Pro manufactured November 5th and delivered less than a week ago, this update does not install saying that my computer does not need it.

Apple MacBook/Pro Trackpad Firmware ReviewDoesn't do squat for boot camp. - Version: 1.0, 11/18/2008 07:05PM PST

This is absolutely useless for the bigger problem at hand - Boot Camp drivers are unaffected - which of course means those drivers need fixing too, rather than just the firmware.

APPLE WAKE UP AND READ YOUR OWN SUPPORT FORUMS! There are tons of threads where people are returning their systems because this sucks in boot camp. I have made the recommendation to my top client that he get it - he is a purely Windows kind of guy, likes the Mac but too many custom apps used all day to switch fully. He agreed on industrial design (even with that cr@ppy display reflector - errr surface) and plunked down almost 3 large on a notebook. Yep in this economy that's a ton.

Well guess what, he's ready to throw that thing at me and my reputation has suffered. Thanks a ton - NOT.

In short - everyone who has this issue, please write in. Perhaps someone may finally break down and listen.

Does the job simply and efficiently. As a bonus, you'll end up with a working trackpad on your MacBook ! Yay !
