Product Description:

After Effects is available in two versions. The Standard version provides the core 2D/3D compositing, animation, and effects tools that motion graphics professionals, Web designers, and video professionals need. The Production Bundle version meets the needs of visual effects professionals, and includes all of the tools in the Standard Version plus additional keying, motion control, and distortion tools, audio effects, 3D channel effects, 16-bit-per-channel color, vector paint, and support for network rendering. In addition, the Production Bundle includes Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator Classic for creating 3D logos and text inside After Effects.

What's new in this version:

The update now supports 2GB of RAM on Macintosh computers.
RAM preview performance on Mac OS X is improved.
View options are now saved correctly in the preferences file.
Problems working with Electric Image and 16-bit Maya IFF files are resolved.
New blend modes introduced in Adobe Photoshop� 7.0 are now preserved on import.
Adobe Premiere� 6.5 titles now import as solids instead of "missing footage" placeholders.
Adobe Premiere project import now preserves in and out points for missing footage.
TIFF output from After Effects no longer generates a warning when imported into Photoshop 7.0.1.
Several Standard and Advanced 3D Renderer anomalies are corrected.

Different from Adobe Updater version? - Version: 8.0.1, 9/27/2007 09:37AM PST

Is this download any different from the 8.0.1 update that Adobe pushed out to us via the Adobe Updater application last month? (That patch made the software version 8.0.1.8.)

This software hosed my system big time. Now I can't even install the release versions of CS3 without completely reformatting and rebuilding my system. It's not worth it.

I'm having a rotten issue with this 7.x software. It's very unstable when it does work, but today it won't even boot up past the splash screen.

Total pain, I've got to get this work done. it's 12:44 am. Kill me now Adobe.
