great router. You just plug it in and go. I'm running 6 Mac G3s and two HP 5MP printers, connected to a cable modem. All six Macs can be online at the same time and you can print to either printer. I've been using it about a year and a half, and I'm not upgrading my firmware. It ain't broke so I ain't fixin' it.

great at constantly adding new features to older products, but that last update was horrible. Under heavy load my roommate and I had to reboot the router about 2X an hour.

easily. Works like a charm. Can't see any noticeable changes, though.

Risk ******* Go into the setup and set the SNMP community string to another greater than 8 character string (other than the defaults public and private). A snmp community string is like a password for managing your device remotely. This device is set to the most common community strings (passwords) of public and private. Also set the pulldown to Read-only if you are not using snmp to manage your device. See ftp://ftp.linksys.com/pdf/befsr81ug.pdf for instructions. Hackers know this and can bypass the "security" of this device through SNMP management tools (network management tools) The bug is listed below: http://xforce.iss.net/static/7827.php

there is no clear downgrade path if your upgrade breaks you current setup. Support from this company is the worst I have ever dealt with. Don't expect a return call for weeks and hold for hours... As well I think they are going down the wrong path with not putting real firewall functionality in the device and selling these software "security applications" Otherwise the product is great if you don't need security or stability.
I even d/l'd the Classic version (PPC) and got the same message.
Anyone get this update to work?
