Chessic is an interface to the Internet Chess Club (ICC) that allows you to play chess against other opponents over the internet.

Chessic only runs under Mac OS X 10.0 or later as it's written in Objective-C using Apple's Cocoa frameworks and utilizes the Quartz display engine.

Chessic provides all the basic functionality you need to get started on the ICC:

Nice anti-aliased scalable/resizable gameboard
Graphical "seek" window to find available game opponents
Graphical annotation of examined games using Bob Hyatt's Crafty chess engine
Integrated timestamp client support to eliminate the effects of internet latencies
Flexible seek list for advertising which types of games you want to play
Examine/observe games other than your own
Move list that supports the professional Linares Figurine chess font
Sound alerts when 30,20,10 seconds remain of your alloted time
Ability to save games in PGN (portable game notation) format
All the nice Mac OS X UI features like customizable toolbars, drawers and sheets where appropriate

New game library window (used by history/search etc)
FEN loading support (it's now possible to play against the endgame training robots)
Various toolbar items added (five minute games, endgame training robots, history, etc)
Valid destinations highlights displayed in red when only 20 seconds are left on the clock
Tweaks to the piece drag feel, it's now possible to abort a drag by moving the piece a reasonable distance from valid destinations
Display white player at bottom for observed games
Fixed a few crashes
Slightly larger fontsize for the console
Slightly optimized game startup
