FileZilla ReviewGreat for big workgroups - Version: 3.2.8.1, 10/19/2009 12:59PM PST

Great for big workgroups that need to keep dozens or more 'shortcuts" to FTP sites and settings "in sync" for all users as you can manage all settings and "shortcuts" by copying an XML file to the users.
Unlike Fetch, which relys on the difficult-to-manage Apple Keychain for shortcut passwords.
Don't know how Cyberduck or SImple FTP handles that --

BUT it is old Windows ugly and confusing to a Mac user.
Yes fast, stable and solid, once you get used to doing things the old WIndows way.

For big workgroups or managing an FTP server, yes.
For indiviudal users, probably not worth the learning curve unless you are used to Windows version.

Help files are almost all WIndows-specific (and therefor NOT helpful)

FileZilla ReviewPerhaps the ugliest but most amazing FTP app out there. - Version: 3.2.5-rc1, 6/10/2009 03:07AM PST

Filezilla's only problem is that it's interface is ugly, poor and sometimes quite difficult. Perhaps to win95-like. Yet, under that interface there is an application that is rock solid and very feature rich, for free!

If you can live with the ugly interface, then Filezilla is the tool you should use when doing FTP, SFTP or whatever file transfer option you're doing. It's fast, reliable and works great with batches of processes and arcane settings.

As an example it's the only tool I found that can batch process file permissions on subfolders and files separately or not, a life saver for me when a few thousands folders had their permissions corrupted in my server...

So, though it's ugly, it's free, it can do everything any other FTP apps can (an then some more) and it's stable like a rock.

I have used Transmit, and other FTP programs on my Mac but for free this is simple and does what you want it to. It works on multiple platform so for Windows user converting to Mac it is the same interface which makes transition seamless.

I have used filezilla regularly for years on both Windows and OS X and would recommend it to anyone!
