Mactracker Commentary5.0.11 fixes a few of the issues I was having - Version: 5.0.11, 11/16/2009 10:45AM PST

I've been using Mactracker for years and if you support Mac's it is a must have. I just upgraded from an old version (5.0.7) and it fixed the main problem I had with the software. For some reason the old version would give the error "Mactracker.app wants to use your confidential information stored in "Exchange Access Group" In your Keychain.

This had me concerned that it had become some sort of malware so I had sadly thrown it out. I needed information in it again and I tried the new version and the error message has gone away! I feel like I can use it again without worrying that there is something wrong with the software.

Mactracker Troubleshooting ReportWon't launch from Applications folder - Version: 5.0.10, 11/4/2009 10:30PM PST

Weird... 5.0.10 will not launch when located in the Applications folder. However, it launches fine when the app is placed on the desktop or even from the Downloads folder. This occurs using Leopard 10.5.8 on a PowerPC G4 stock Dual Gig processors.

On my MacBook Pro 15" 2.6 GHz it (Mactracker 5.0.10) launches just fine from the Applications folder... go figure. The MacBook Pro is running Snow Leopard 10.6.1.

Just for the record, I have been using Mactracker for many years and it has always been a fantastic app... very handy to have around if you do any Mac consulting or troubleshooting.
