Product Description:

Monica is a queue based file download program for downloading files from the Internet using ftp and http protocols. Don't you hate it when you have a lot of files to download and you have to sit in front of your browser waiting to be able to start the next one? Don't you hate it when you are downloading from a slow server and your browser deviously aborts your download leaving it incomplete? Don't you want your downloads to automatically retry if the server connection is dropped? Don't you hate it when you cannot log onto an ftp server because it has reached its maximum number of logins? Don't you wish you could restart downloads without losing what you already have? If you answered yes to any of these questions then MONICA is for you. Monica allows you to easily set up a download queue by dragging and dropping or cutting and pasting file URLs. Once you have placed some files in the queue you may manually start each download at a time convenient to you, or allow MONICA to start downloading automatically. In automatic mode, once a file is received Monica will start the next one. If the server times you out or if the download is incomplete then MONICA will restart the download and do her best to resume from where the download left off, while you can go off to more pleasant occupations.

Monica X Troubleshooting Reportresuming downloads goes into wrong folder - Version: 4.0b2, 2/17/2004 02:04AM PST

BjarneDM
If I have to break off a download and then later want to resume, in at least some circumstances 4.0b2 has difficulties and downloads to the wrong folder thus not seeing the partially downloaded file. If I instead fire up 3.0b2, the partial download is correctly indentified and the download resumes where it was stopped. This is only a problem if you manually abort a download. If the server times out and Monica has to connect again there's no problem. Setting the correct folder anew or setting the default folder to the correct one doesn't help. This incorrect behaviour has especially been seen if I've got 4 downloads I have to abort. Then all of the downloads in channel 2-4 will be directed to the folder for channes 1. My download folder was different for each of the 4 files.

Monica X ReviewA really annoying… - Version: 3.0pb2, 4/4/2003 12:43PM PST

hombre
program, largely because of its archaic, gruesome interface that, unfortunately, works WAY better than anything else, at least in my hands. A real workhorse.
