  • Read and organize high-fidelity eBooks
  • Activate search and accessibility capabilities built into your PDF files

What's new in this version:

This update addresses several potential vulnerabilities in Adobe Acrobat Professional and Standard versions 6.0.0-6.0.2. Note that currently there are no known malicious exploits of these vulnerabilities. Adobe recommends that all users of Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional and Standard apply this update as a proactive measure.

Preventing playback of malicious content in Flash media embedded in a PDF File. For more information see Adobe Knowledgebase article #321328.

Vulnerabilities in the PNG library (libpng version 1.2.5) that could be exploited with malformed PNG images. For more information see CAN-2004-0597.

An issue with how the eBook plug-in works with *.etd files during eBook transactions. For more information see CAN-2004-1153.

If you have already installed the original 6.0.3 update to Adobe Acrobat 6.0.2 Professional or Standard:

  • You do not need to apply the 6.0.3a revised update.
  • The vulnerabilities listed above have been patched.
  • No further action is needed. The problem with the 6.0.3 update affected Adobe Acrobat only, not Adobe Reader.

DEspite the upgrade to v9.2, the Adobe PDFViewer Plugin remains v9.1 and is only compatible with Safari 4 if that browser is set to run in 32-bit mode. I hope Adobe fixes this soon, since the built-in viewer in Safari has fewer features.

For the life of me I can't think of a reason to DL this software. I've done well with Preview and can't think of one reason that I need Reader with it's inherent problems.

So, what's with VersionTracker? Is there ANY app that works with 10.6? VT seems to think 10.5 is the latest from Apple. As far as Adobe Reader goes, nothing here about working with SL, so I assume it doesn't. I tried it but it dies as soon as launched. I haven't gotten Reader to open since updating to SL, but Preview's OK, so I'll stick with that. Or is this "new" version of Reader like all their last since 9.0... you have to download all incremental updates, since uploading to their own site 9.1.3 complete seems to be beyond the AdobeGeeks' many many talents.
