That "CSI" effect... - Version: 1.6, 8/22/2006 04:35PM PST

Yeah. If you watch the various incarnations of CSI:|NY|Miami you'll notice a few of the lab machines are Macs running OS X and they have this effect -- probably not using this program (maybe?), but gamma inverting (whether it's to disguise the fact that they're Macs or something else, I dunno).
Can someone explain this in a language new users can understand? - Version: 1.6, 3/7/2006 03:40PM PST

Product Description:
BlackLight allows you to invert the colors on your screen. It does so by inverting the gamma curve of your screen. When you open BlackLight, it automaticly invert the screen. When you quit it, the corlors revert to normal. Clicking on the BlackLight icon in the Dock toggle between inverted and normal screen.
What's new in this version:
* Improved the inversion algorithm to respect the gamma correction curve in use on the screen. Previously the gamma correction was inverted when the colors were, the correction was applied in reverse and could make gray levels appear coloured.
* Added the color filter effect to the Black Light application.
* Black Light is a universal binary that can work nativly on Mac OS X for the Intel processor.

Product description is lacking vital information, that would actually increase the interest towards this small, and for some people, very useful tool.
If you wonder what I am talking about, launch the program and give a peek for the preferences.
