Like this app alot! But would like it more if you could have it in the Dock as well. Would be great when you're running Leopard.

Version 2.5 Grays System Prefs Menu - Version: 2.5, 9/29/2006 08:18PM PST

I've been using SNARD for over a year now and typically had good results. The most recent version (2.5) grays out the prefs when I turn on the show System Prefs option, i.e. the pref panes are not selectable. Has anyone else had this problem?
As soon as I select "Configure" and then close the SNARD configuration window, normal functionality returns.
Keep Version 2.4.3

I installed versions 2.4.4 and 2.4.5, both released today. Instant crash with both. I restore my version 2.4.3 and it works great with Tiger 10.4.2. I guess I'll wait until the dust settles before giving it another go. I recommend Snard as long as today's releases get fixed. I reinstalled version 2.4.3 because I use Snard every day and would miss having it. My rating are based upon my working version.
Still not multiple user friendly? - Version: 2.3, 10/6/2004 03:09AM PST

I'm a user of the Snard 2.3 dock app, and am wondering if the menubar version has the same problem the dock version suffers from - Having to have a separate serial number for each USER ACCOUNT on a system (activating it in admin account doesn't authorize it for all users on a machine). The Author was good enough to send me an additional serial number for my user account, but that is still a workaround, not a fix to a problem which shouldn't exist on a multiple user operating system (not to mention a surprising one for a software author who is obviously experienced in writing *nix based software).
Just my 2 cents, as otherwise this is an indispensable app for OSX. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I loved this product. I paid and registered it. I got 1 upgrade....that was it! I love Launch Bar and really can't live without it...there are many other launchers available. I don't see any big improvement over the old Snard that I paid for originally. I asked the author where my registration code was and at that time he indicated that he was not issuing codes. Consequently I guess a lot of freeloaders used Snard without paying and he was forced to do what he is doing now which I disdain completely. I dislike paying for an upgrade after only getting one so much that I no longer use his application.

Snard is Best! - Version: 2.1, 4/20/2004 06:14AM PST

I have tried many "launchers", but none of them come close to Snard. I use the "Menu" version. I love how it is unobtrusive, yet easily accessible. I also love how I can customize it to fit the way I work.
I use the Dock to manage what I use constantly, and Snard to access the things I use periodically or occasionally. The result is fast and intuitive access to everything I need. In short, Snard rocks!
It's a shame that these feedback forums often attract the negative comments, while the happy users often don't bother to comment. That's me! But this is one product I'm willing to take the time to rave about. Thanks, Gideon Software, for a great product. Keep up the good work!

I agree with the user who was MORE than fair is his comments, and who was MORE than fair in not rating or slamming the product: the Gideon comment was completely uncalled for. On re-reading the Gideon comment, I wonder if we're dealing with an English-as-second-language deal here; maybe something's just getting lost in translation.

That's exactly what I did, and that was before reading your "advice" I followed my own advice and donated to A-Dock :-) I would pay for XMenu but it's free, and I think I'm happy now without that much stuff on my menu bar since I have 9 other programs there.
No need to get angry, though. That comment (see title) was totally uncalled for.
There's a reason why I purchased your software in the past, and praised your customer support in the past. The bottom line is that the recent "upgrades" have been dissapointing to me, and yes, I have found alternatives that work better for me. I don't even mind that I never got a reply to my email from a week ago, and I'm not even rating the product, price, support, etc.
As a registered user, I did not see those 16 releases you mention. I didn't find a Version History to see all of the "added features" I received. Perhaps if I had purchased it at version 0.1 I would have seen all those upgrades, but that's besides the point. Even if 1 release is good enough I'm more than happy to pay for the upgrade. And the upgrade is $6. I've given more than that for freeware!!!!
But I guess you had the last word. After this, you can be certain that I will always "buy something else."
