Hotspot Shield ReviewThis is ''adware'' not ''freeware'' - Version: 1.341, 1/5/2010 01:51PM PST

This is not really free being that it tampers and tinkers with your VPN settings to spew ads at you. How is this a "shield?"

This is more like a "hotspot suppository."

Maybe they should call it "hotspot sword" as in "Hey, let me stab you with our sword, it goes in easier."

For me hotspot shield works fine, especially being free.

Steve Gibson has a review of it on the podcast Security Now, episode 212. He doesn't like it because they insert code into your VPN to serve you ads.

Hotspot Shield ReviewHijacks google searches - Version: 0.942-2, 9/4/2009 03:52AM PST

Not only does it not give me a good email address in the US (for viewing Hulu.com) but it hijacks all my searches on Google.com and sends them to Ask.com instead. NOT COOL, I don't know what else is being hijacked because I deleted it straight away.
