Boomerang Data Recovery ReviewScam software - Version: 2.1.11, 10/13/2009 06:52AM PST

Paid $199 for licence and when software did not work on my system there got no response from customer service. I paid via Paypal so requested a refund from them which they refused as it was a software serial code. This triggered a response from Boomerang who invalidated my serial number but still refused a refund. So they basically stole my money. Very disappointed with Paypal and Boomerang.

Very shady company - do not recommend parting with your hard eared cash. check out all the earlier *legitimate* feedback about peoples nightmare customer service experiences. i.e no way to contact the company after they decide to invalidate your serial number.

Boomerang Data Recovery ReviewSave your money - Version: 2.1.11, 9/29/2009 02:02PM PST

Boomerang took my money and then hid from all questions posed to them. No customer support - unless you call pre-packaged non-human responses, customer support. Not once did I get a person from their company. This was after repeated attempts. They are even crafty enough to set up their business without the benefit of supplying a phone number. On the other hand, Data Rescue II and their company were perfect. I cannot begin to express my deep, heart felt gratitude for their product AND the general energy on their website. Two months ago I deleted some very precious video clips of my 1 year old baby girl, from my MacBook Pro. I have been incredibly bummed out since. I was recommended to use Boomerang Data Recovery. Their product did not work, at all. And, when a customer attempts to communicate, their system (Boomerang) is set up, apparently, to frustrate the individual until they give up and simply go away. That company has all the signs of an entity going into the dark abyss where all companies that lack integrity go. The Data Rescue company on the other hand. Eternal gratitude to them for saving my data and for creating a quality company.

Boomerang Data Recovery ReviewTried and true - Version: 2.1.11, 9/2/2009 12:24PM PST

I bought a 100GB activation key a while back to recover some data I lose on a 80GB hard drive.

On the first run, I got everything back without a hitch and still have around 30 GB to spare.

You'd think after losing my data once I'd have started backing up my stuff.... but I never got around to it and a few months later I accidentally deleted a partition that held a bunch of my older archives.

So what'd I do? Fired up my old activation and got it back.

yup, boomerang worked just as well the second time around, and It's pretty cool that your activation key is good for life (until you use all the data that is).

I still have about 10GB left... but I finally started backing up my stuff, so hopefully I'll never have to use it.

But atleast I know that if I need it, it's there, and it works.

Great product.

It's a little on the expensive side for data recovery software, but it's definately the best technology out there.

I had to decide how valuable my data was to me, and I decided investing in boomerang would be a worthwhile purchase.

Boy was I right... I got everything I lost (and even stuff I didnt...). But it saved me hours and hours of work and recovered tons of sentimental pictures and even found some old emails from when I first started talking to my wife (who was then nothing but a stranger.... think "You've Got mail. :p)

I'm pretty much a dummy when it comes to anything computer related, but it made getting everything back easier. Their website had easy to read directions, a nice user manual, and tons of faqs.

my only complaint is that I wasted some of my activation key on files I didn't necessarily need or want... but I guess it wasn't really a big deal.

Either way, I'm very satisfied overall and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good data recovery product.

I recently lost an entire home computer in a large lightning storm
.
A huge power surge hit the neighborhood and... you guessed it, I had no protection

between my computer and the wall.

I was crushed. There were years and years worth of documents, work, and memory on

that computer, and I'd never though to back it up. Surely sometihng like that wouldn't

happen to me... or so I thought. But then it did.

A friend of mine let me use his computer to look for some sort of solution, and i found

boomerang.

He let me put my hard drive as a secondary in his computer, and within a few hours I

had most, if not al, of everything I had lost back in my hands.

Needless to say I learned my lesson about computers.... but if it weren't for Boomerang

it wouldn't have been a lesson, it would've been a tragedy. Haha....

Boomerang Data Recovery ReviewSCAM SCAM SCAM ADAM YATES IS A FRAUD - Version: 2.1.11, 8/31/2009 08:43PM PST

AFTER HE GETS YOUR MONEY, HE DEACTIVATES YOUR SOFTWARE AND ACCUSES YOU OF VIOLATING THE SOFTWARE AGREEMENT. THEN HE PUSHES YOU TO PAY DOUBLE THE PRICE FOR ANOTHER VERSION. DON'T LET YOURSELF BE RIPPED OFF!!!!!

The software itself works notably well. The problem, which you can see from googling the company, is that after you have the program for a while, customers get an email saying that they have been caught using it in a "commercial environment." They freeze your ability to use the software you paid for, refuse to return your money and then have the gaul to suggest you buy the commercial version at twice the price. At first I thought they actually thought I had used this as they suggested, but after they refused to explain the basis for their accusation and refused to return the almost $200 I paid for it, I did a google search and found that this scam is pretty standard operating procedure. If anybody knows how to locate Adam Yates, please let me know. I am anxious to seek to have him prosecuted for wire fraud and theft by deception. I'd also like to hear from others who have been ripped off the way I have. Depending on how many cases I discover, I expect to file a class action suit against the company and Adam Yates.

As a graphics designer, I often have scenarios where I need data recovery software to get back deleted files. (no lie, when you deal with as many files as I do on a daily basis, you'd accidentally delete a few here and there to).

Boomerang has been my go-to product for over a year (way back when, it was one of the only platforms built for the Mac OS).

Anyways, it's only gotten better and continues to be a reliable and worthwhile resource in my day-to-day business.

Definatley a good program for anyone who needs to get important data back.
