Because of the Windows Filesharing support added in MacOSX 10.2 and the upcoming Windows Printersharing support rumoured to be added to MacOSX 10.3 and besides that lack of community support, this project is no longer maintained.
I'm working on VLC media player now. If anyone wants to continue with this, it's opensource, so go right ahead.

fills the holes in Apple's 'Windows File Sharing'... I'm using this swimmingly with a Win2k file/print server. This and Gimp-Print have made my month! :)

this is a dumb question, but do you have to have the Samba server installed first, and then use this to set it up? Or does this program install Samba and then allow you to configure it. Sorry for the confusion...

are having problems with Windoze XP clients logging into your servers. With an error stating in its first sentence "[path] refers to a location that is unavailable". And you have veto files statement in your smb.conf files (which is the default in this package). Make sure you put a "?" ahead of every "*". Once done XP clients will work fine. At least it did for me. For details please go to www.samba.org and lookup the posting by Marcel Kunath kunathma@pilot.msu.edu Sat Mar 2 13:51:10 2002. This fix was a life saver. I would have never figured that out. I was only having problems with Windoze XP clients. All other Windoze clients were OK. Once the fix was in. All Windoze platforms worked with domain authentication. Other than this little bug (that is not their fault). This is the best Samba package for any platform I have ever seen.
