Product Description:

Unlocks the world of Mac OS X fonts! Explore worlds that you didn't even know were there. Compare FontChecker to any other font inspection utility on Mac OS X and decide for yourself which has the most character.

FontChecker turns each font into a character palette. Simply drag the desired character or the HTML character code from your FontChecker palette directly into your document. FontChecker allows you to database a collection of your favorite special characters across all fonts. The next time you need one of your special characters, simply open your FontChecker favorites and drag the character into place.

This release is built as a Universal Binary. It is Ready for the new Intel Macs as well as current PPC Macs.
Fixed several cosmetic issues. Many changes to appearance for 10.4.
Reset evaluation period.
Changed and Improved Find. Find now works in Live Mode.
In this release FontChecker has the ability to run with a brushed metal appearance. Although this is not the default, you can turn it on by checking "Preferences->Application Options->Use Brushed Metal Appearance"
Built with version Xcode 2.2 (GCC 4.0). This build is for Mac OS X 10.3 and up. Support is only provided for Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
This is an interim release. There is a major upgrade of the product in the works.
Updated Software LIcense: Paying the license fee allows you the right to use one copy of the Software up to two computers for use by the same person such as a laptop and a workstation as long as both are not in use at the same time.
Fixed bug in SW Update process.
Added "Clear Menu" option to Favorite Fonts Menu.

If WunderMoosen SW Update does not work for you just download the full distribution and copy over the old application

excellent application. It allows access to all the unicode characters that can not be typed directly from the keyboard. It does this wonderfully. It is highly specialized and I must admit that I do not use it very often but when I need it I really, really need it. It has saved the day more than once.

the review by "Marty the Penguin". He seems to be marking this product down because it is not a font manager, thinking that there may be some confusion. I think the product as described above is clearly a "Font inspection tool supporting Unicode" It does not say a "font manager for unicode". This is a great product that does exactly what it says and more. It does things that Suitcase or Font Reserve do not do and it is only $15.00 not $70 or $100. I give it 5 stars because it does what it says and it gets better with each release. It is already the best anyway.

it's important people unfamiliar with it understand that this is *not* a competitor for Suitcase or Font Reserve. It's an inspection utility, not a font manager.
