Product Description:

Graphical user interface which allows you to inspect, edit, change, and create configuration files such as: hosts.allow, hosts.deny, motd, shells, ftp users, ftpchroot, ftpwelcome crontab, (and others!). TMA enables/disables services in the inetd.conf file and databases your updates in an encrypted format. TMA allow you to enable the Mac OS X built-in firewall and manage rules through a powerful interface. Firewall rule ordering can be changed easily by using up and down arrows. Didn't like your configuration changes? go back, and back, and back to a previous versions. TMA monitors and alerts you to unexpected changes in configuration files.

What's new in this version:

Note: This is an interim release to provide Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar compatibility (It is also compable with Mac OS X 10.1). A major release is in the works and due shortly. The major update will require Mac OS X 10.2.
If you are running a preview or previous release of TMA and copy the release TMA over and replace the old copy, you will lose your revision history and ip filters database. The History and Filters databases lives inside the TMA bundle.
If you want to retain your old history or filters we recommend that you rename the old TMA.app to OLDTMA.app. This will preserve the history. You can then use the new option from the File menu to copy the old data into your new
Please remember to stop the TMA Daemon before you upgrade.
Changed Preferences dialog to make it more like our other Cocoa products, including a new registration panel and sw update panel. The new registration panel makes it much easier to enter your key. You may have to reenter your key and save preferences after upgrading.
Changed startup script generator to allow for the differences in startup operation between Mac OS X 10.1 and Mac OS X 10.2. If you already have startup scripts for TMA Monitor or IPFilters use the new TMA to remove and then re-install them.
Jaguar has it's own built-in firewall editor (prefs sharing panel) so don't use both. Use only one method to manage your firewall. The Jaguar built-in editor will not allow you to restrict servers to any specific network. With it it is all or nothing.
Reordered some of the tool menu options. The ones not supported in this release have been removed but they will reappear in the upcoming major release.
Added some new firewall rules for new Jaguar network features. These are disabled by default. You will not see these new rules if you restore an old rule set from a previous TMA.
The e-mail alerts now have three transport/delivery options. The default is to use "sendmail". If you have installed and are using Postfix you may need to use option two (postfix) or option three which is "/usr/bin/mail". the reason why I love it: This tool is way more than another editor. TMA watches all critical unix files for modifications and alerts me in case of unauthorized changes ( Hacker alert ) of my Servers configs - WAY COOL. It even keeps the whole history of changes in an encrypted DB ! TMA is the missing security tool Apple should have built into OSX (Server at least).

idea, a little expensive, but for the novice Unix user, it's a real help. Better docs would go a long way towards this market. Anyone more advanced will be just as at home with a free text editor.
