Product Description:

EarthDesk replaces your desktop picture with a high-resolution image of Earth, complete with accurate current lighting conditions (sun, moon, city lights, and real-time clouds). This image will change throughout the day to reflect the movement of the sun, moon, and clouds in real time. Tons of features like citylights at night, zoom capabilities, and political and satellite maps make this a top-notch earth viewer.

Version 4.4.1 fixed a rare bug in 4.4 that could cause licensed copies to display an unlicensed message.

I actually had the opposite problem than other reviewers. Previous versions were sluggish and buggy, but that was before I upgraded to an Intel machine. On my 2.66GHz iMac with 4Gb RAM, v5 has been wonderfully stable and the renderings are fantastic, even clouds. Version 4.x was a bit of a memory hog, and although v5 is supposed to be a leaner application, it still uses just a bit more memory than I would like. Still, it is a nice improvement, and I love all the new configurations. available. It would be a nice feature to be able to select a centering point by dragging rather than by cities or compass points.

Have been using for sometime time and the old version 4 worked great upgrade to 5 and have had nothing but trouble, crashes all the time and sometimes will not start. Don't up grad until they fix there problems, I think I will go back to version 4 at least it works. I also have MacBook Pro late 2008 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo w/4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
