EarthDesk ReviewNo Issues Here - Version: 5.0.1, 7/11/2009 10:35AM PST

I actually had the opposite problem than other reviewers. Previous versions were sluggish and buggy, but that was before I upgraded to an Intel machine. On my 2.66GHz iMac with 4Gb RAM, v5 has been wonderfully stable and the renderings are fantastic, even clouds. Version 4.x was a bit of a memory hog, and although v5 is supposed to be a leaner application, it still uses just a bit more memory than I would like. Still, it is a nice improvement, and I love all the new configurations. available. It would be a nice feature to be able to select a centering point by dragging rather than by cities or compass points.

Have been using for sometime time and the old version 4 worked great upgrade to 5 and have had nothing but trouble, crashes all the time and sometimes will not start. Don't up grad until they fix there problems, I think I will go back to version 4 at least it works. I also have MacBook Pro late 2008 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo w/4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Ordinary Guy
This was a great program in the 4.x version, but since the update, it hasn't worked at all. At v5.0, it was suggested I uninstall via the button in the pane, then reinstall. I did so... and the program seems to run... but the desktop remained sadly unchanged. I was hoping for a breakthrough in 5.0.1, but alas -- no Earth for my desktop.

I'm running a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB carrying 10.5.7. If you've got this setup, you might want to hold back until they get it fixed...

EarthDesk Troubleshooting ReportVersion 5 doesn't work - Version: 5.0, 6/29/2009 07:14PM PST

I love Earthdesk -- have used it since 2005. Unfortunately, I can't get version 5 to run at all.

I've done both an automatic uninstall and manual uninstall of older installations, but after many attempts and several restarts, I can't get V.5 to display a Desktop image.

Hopefully Xeric support will have an explanation soon.
