for someone (like me) who isn't the greatest typist (do-overs are painful). One of my all-time favorite Mac freeware apps; used for over a year with zero trouble.

WordService Troubleshooting ReportFireworksMX2004 Won't Launch with this Service Module Installed - Version: 2.6, 5/5/2005 02:29PM PST

Found a repeatable conflict with WordService and Macromedia FireworksMX2004.

Fireworks crashes upon launch with this service installed, at least on the two machines I have. (Panther and Jaguar) Was able to repeat the problem by installing and uninstalling several times.

WordService ReviewPerfect complement to iWork/Pages - Version: 2.5.3, 2/11/2005 08:04PM PST

This is an incredibly useful little tool. Among many other things, it patches an incredibly brainless shortcoming in Pages, Apple's new word processor. I love Pages -- elegant, powerful, and a long-needed solution for people who are sick of Word but don't want to give up sophisticated formatting capability. Yet it has one glaring shortcoming that almost kills it for many professional writers: it cannot count words in a selected body of text. WordService does this (and 33 other things) instantly and almost effortlessly. Anyone who uses Cocoa apps a lot (and who doesn't these days) really ought to install this -- it enhances the functionality of the whole system.

Thanks for making this guys! To those who still don't understand that this is NOT the direct cause of your loss of services and post ignorant dribble w/o bothering to READ info first, I give you one star. WordService? 5 stars.

I installed and my Services menu stopped working altogether. Removed from ~/Library/Services, logged out, and back in to fix problem. Interfers with TextSoap.

WordService ReviewWow! - Version: 2.5, 7/24/2003 02:09PM PST

WordService worked without a hitch. When I paste text from an email file, everything is always such a mess! Now, with just one click (and some dragging), I don't have to deal with hitting return and space a countless amount of times. A great time saver for even the most basic of users.

with PathFinder, a shareware app that is a Finder on steroids which has many other useful features. Wordservice works as advertised.
