LimeWire X Commentary100% Mac Approved? - Version: 4.18.3, 7/27/2008 08:53AM PST

This is where I draw the line on any software.
All developers should need to submit there stuff directly to Apple for approval.
We should not be the testers for ware that is not 99%.
We have enough to do without fixing a problem or trashing our systems by default.

LimeWire X CommentaryThis software will corrupt your mac!!!! - Version: 4.18.2, 6/19/2008 09:37AM PST

This is a comment to criticize the effect Limewire software has had on numerous Mac computers. The design of this application corrupts information in directories that manage hardware resulting in numerous issues with hardware not working properly. A warning that this may result should be included in the FAQs!!!! Also, the feedback comments section on the Limewire site will not allow feedback in either Safari or Firefox on the Mac, or Internet Explorer on the PC!!! Tell you something right there, doesn't it?

I bought the 4.12 PRO, paid via PayPal. Coudn't upgrade to 4.14, they don't recognize my email address or answer any email from me. Now it's time to upgrade to 4.16, but again they don't know me and they don't answer ANY email. customer@limewire.com seems to be a trash can where your mail goes directly. Don't buy the PRO. Don't give then a cent.

LimeWire X Troubleshooting Report'No Connection'? Blame it On your ISP! - Version: 4.16.4, 2/9/2008 12:00AM PST

If you have never been able to connect, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to find out if they block peer-to-peer connections. Many ISPs now block or limit peer-to-peer traffic in order to reduce the burden on their servers, most likely they have been asked to do so by the RIAA.
Also ask if you are connecting through a proxy. ISPs that provide high-speed-like connections through normal dial-up connections use proxies, and many satellite connections also use proxies. LimeWire will need to be configured to work with your proxy by going to Advanced > Proxy within the LimeWire options.
If your ISP sent you a modem, ask if it is equipped with a firewall.

LimeWire X CommentaryCan't Connect! - Version: 4.16.4, 2/8/2008 12:00AM PST

The latest versions of 'Limewire' (Intel Mac, Leopard) have 'connectivity' problems.
Even after 'prepping' the router, 'Limewire' can't connect.
NOTE: Many ISPs are now blocking any 'file sharing' attempts.

I already have 4.17.2 installed. Why does this older version show as most current?
