iJournal CommentaryPassword message - Version: 1.77, 6/7/2006 02:13PM PST

I'm very glad to see that he programmer is back to regularly updating this wonderful and very handy Mac OS X program! The additions are a welcome change, but one thing that's been bothering me for some time is the "Message from service, Your password must contain at least one number or symbol." error message. It's fine that it comes up once but could you either set a preference or make a check box on this dialog box to not show this error message ever again?

I know my password sucks, but I'm not going to change it! It's not even an english word, so I'm not worried about someone guessing it.

Thanks in advance for a possible fix or at least an option to disable this. Keep up the great work!

iJournal ReviewUser Icons! - Version: 1.77, 5/28/2006 09:52AM PST

The new versions have added some interesting new features. The ability to see the user icon I am going to use is a favorite of mine. The only drawback to this is it can take several seconds to load them all. If you are on a slower connection, this feature may not be the greatest for you... especially if you have a large quantity of icons. I do not see a preference option to disable this, unfortunately. (Perhaps a feature for the next release?)

It will automatically detect what you're currently playing on iTunes, which saves you the trouble of having to type in the song name and artist. If you don't want it to show the song you had playing, just switch to another song and hit the button beside the Music field. It will update to the song playing at that time.

Since I do not own an Intel mac, I can't say much about how well it works on that side of things, however on my G3 iBook it works very well. It gives you easy access to just about everything you'd ever need. Also, you can't beat the price. I really like this program and I don't know what I'd do without it.

What happened to updates? Awesome app, I've been using it for YEARS now. Only a few things could be improved upon, but I remember back in the day when this app was updated a few times a year.

iJournal ReviewJust one teeny suggestion... - Version: 1.54, 4/18/2004 01:19AM PST

This program has served me well. My only real wish is that it would show me the user icon I have selected before I submit the post. Some other programs (Phoenix) do this, so I know its possible to do. I have a few GreatestJournal accounts for roleplaying, and to see what picture I am using would be a great help. So, perhaps that can be worked into a future release. program works great for me. it may lack some extended features but its great for when you just want to make posts and not deal with alot of decisions. I like being able to customize the toolbar. Even detects what iTunes is playing for you. Spiffy!

iJournal CommentaryClose to perfection - Version: 1.52, 7/3/2003 10:18PM PST

Very cool, and very close.

But there's still a few small issues.

I don't know about others, but on my comp this app is Slow in logging in and submitting stuff. The spinning rainbow orb sits there for several moments before I'm able to type anything (other apps are unaffected of course, as per OS X multitasking). Using the webpage interface to Update or Edit an entry is much faster than this.

Two other [very minor] things...
-Sometimes the sheet that informs you the entry has been Submitted instead says it was Deleted. It still submitted (either added or edited) the entry perfectly, but for some bizarre reason it states that it deleted it in that 'task complete' sheet.
-Allowing the user to place an Edit Last Entry shortcut in the toolbar via Customize Toolbar would be useful.

Nonetheless, a superb (and free, and hard-worked) app. Kudos to all involved for the work they've done thus far. This is the LJ client for Mac OS X.

how the program WORKS, not how good or bad is the service given. But, so far, I've had a great experience with LiveJournal, also with this application (iJournal, a 3rd party client). Free clients can give access to other users, as well, they receive a free code every week.

individual deleted my account of the comedy of errors that occurred when I was misled into believing that all you had to do was download this i Journal and install it ,go to it's web site and pay for it. I went to a web page that was obviously designed to totally confuse anyone with good intentions to pay. I have a Paypal account and would have gladly shed the measly fee to try this program out.

to pay!!! Read my original account of all the fun I had to try to join the crowd here! I'm sure I'm not alone. I guess the web site really doesn't care if it confuses the heck out of the new people and puts up sufficient barriers so they can defeat their own purpose of expanding their membership. Sheeesh I guess no one reads anymore GOD knows I read the web page to pay the 5 bucks at least 7 or 8 times and tried to pay at least 5 times before I gave up in despair.

program is freeware, however, the livejournal account is not free. You must either get a code from a paid user of livejournal.com, or visit the site and pay for an account there. www.livejournal.com
