Apple iMovie HD Troubleshooting ReportBug or no bug? - Version: 8.0.5, 10/14/2009 07:52PM PST

leberp
Upgraded to IMovie 8.0.5. When I start IMovie I get the following notice: "The QuickTime component necessary to view, edit, import, and export high-definition movies is not installed. It is included with the iMovie installer; please re-install."

Why. The IMovie was installed when I first loaded the operating system; I don't have a separate installer. Perhaps its on the application install disk, but I don't to restore the computer to its original state --its an early 2009 install disk set.

My computer is a Quad Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz, with 6MB main memory

iMovie has gone downhill since v6. At least put both versions on-line so people can use one that actually is useful
